Welcome Readers and Reader Parents!
I work with students who can benefit from extra guided practice in learning to read. We have fun learning about letters, sounds and words. We also learn that reading is more than decoding and word calling. It's understanding and remembering what we read. That understanding is facilitated by previewing what we're going to read, making connections to what we're reading, and thinking about what we read as it relates to us. We also understand better when we can read in a normal, conversational pace. That's called "reading fluency."
